Salzer’s Dancing Digital project is one of 213 projects nationwide to receive funding from the National Endowment for the Humanities and the only Alabama project funding in this round. https://www.neh.gov/news/neh-announces-33-million-213-humanities-projects-nationwide. Salzer has joined with Gesel Mason, who will serve as Co-Director of this new implementation phase, and on whose collection No Boundaries: Dancing the Visions of Contemporary Black Choreographers Dancing Digital’s prototype online archive will be based..

This short experimental film, made in collaboration with composer, Amir Zaheri, is a reaction to our visit to the unofficial refugee camp in Idomeni, Greece in May of 2016.
Rebecca Salzer has choreographed this duet In collaboration with composer Amir Zaheri and with dance colleagues/performers Sarah Barry and Lawrence Jackson. Cesium Singing will be performed at the UA Arboretum at sunset.
Two new companion screendances, 3 Conversations and Right Here, featuring Liz Burritt and Liam Clancy, are in the final phase of completion. These works are collaborations with Tara Knight, Omar Ramos, Alina Bokovikova, Jaymee Ngernwichit, and Jeff Corrales. Look for them soon at a festival near you!
