Salzer’s Dancing Digital project is one of 213 projects nationwide to receive funding from the National Endowment for the Humanities and the only Alabama project funding in this round. https://www.neh.gov/news/neh-announces-33-million-213-humanities-projects-nationwide. This short experimental film, made in collaboration with composer, Amir Zaheri, is a reaction to our visit to the unofficial refugee camp in Idomeni, Greece in May of 2016.
Rebecca Salzer has choreographed this duet In collaboration with composer Amir Zaheri and with dance colleagues/performers Sarah Barry and Lawrence Jackson. Cesium Singing will be performed at the UA Arboretum at sunset.
Two new companion screendances, 3 Conversations and Right Here, featuring Liz Burritt and Liam Clancy, are in the final phase of completion.
