About

Rebecca Salzer is an intermedia dance artist, scholar, and educator. For two and a half decades, her award-winning dance films have been featured in national and international festivals including the San Francisco International Film Festival and Dance on Camera Festival, as well as on public affiliate television stations KQED, KPBS, and WTTW. Beyond making work for the screen, she is also interested in how we preserve and share recorded dance, and how access to digital resources effects whose stories are included in or erased from our vision of dance legacy. Salzer directs the Dancing Digital Project, which works toward creating and facilitating more accessible, equitable, interconnected, and sustainable dance resources online, and co-directs the NEH-supported No Boundaries Archive Project with Gesel Mason. She has recently joined the USC Glorya Kaufman School of Dance as Associate Dean of Faculty Affairs.
